Good sporting event stories.
Good sporting event stories.
I don't really post in General to often but I thought this thread could conjure up some good stories about going to a game and seeing something funny/out of the ordinary after you've most likely consumed a few adult beverages.
Mine takes place at a Bruins game in mid January I believe. I'm a die-hard Bruins fan so I'll go to the games no matter where the seats were, and this time it happened up on the balcony, where most of the "spend less on tickets and more on beer" crowd sit.
It was me, my brother, my mom, and a buddy of mine sitting together, and its about the second period after I've had a few myself. Usually you meet good people in the balcony, which we did with the group of fans in front of us. Laughed it up, cheered together, ect.
About a row back and 8 seats down is a mother and her, maybe 10-12 or so, boy. He's got a small novelty basketball they were handing out for Celtics promotions, and some how it ended up rolling past me and into the area of the drunk guys in front of us. So he looked back, acknowledged the kid that lost the ball, and made the motion of giving it back to him, to which the child agreed.
The guy gives the ball a little bit of drunk heavy arm, which by my standards a 10-12 year old should be able to catch. The ball went right through his two hands and hit him square in the face, to which all 10 or so of us busted out laughing. Remember, drinking will cause usually minor situations to become extremely hilarious.
To make a long story short, the mother comes over and begins to completely bombard us and let the bad words run free while exclaiming "WHAT KIND OF EXAMPLE ARE YOU SETTING FOR MY YOUNG BOY LAUGHING AT HIM!@#!@#!~" (yes... in that tone.)
I dunno if its good or not to you guys, could possibly be filed under the "had to be there" category.

I wasn't at this game (watched in on TV), but I'll never forget when Domi was in the penalty box in Philly and he got into a scrap with a Flyers fan, after the Flyers fan fell through the glass..LMAO
This angle isn't the greatest but Domi got some good shots in on this guy from the angle I saw on CBC. The putz deserved it. I was hoping Domi would really dummy him
