You totally miss the point. If someone wants to learn a second language, go for it. obama is implying that we have to learn a second language. There is a difference. No one is dissing anyone who speaks more than one language.

He is saying let's compete with other Countries.

It says we are used to everyone in the world wanting to do business with us, so they must learn our language. It may also say we don't care to learn about other countries and communicate with them. Let's face it. The world is changing and fast. Start paying attention to our standing in the world, our debt, etc. We need to kick it in the butt here and quick because we have slipped! If you don't agree with this last sentence, you have been sleeping.

 

Thats not there problem, they dont care what happens as long as another 9/11 happens to us. Then they'll be laughing. Maybe you should start caring who likes us and who hates us, cause not caring about that will get our *** and our country messed up.

Luckily, you're free to learn and speak any language you want, but the US is and always has been predominantly English, ever since it was conquered by Europeans anyway.
Therefore, English should be a "make or break" prerequisite into the country IMO.

I'll post it again for you. In another thread you are completely against kids having to learn about Christianity in public schools. However now you are for kids being forced to learn Spanish. It's the same theory except you've completely changed your view point. And I know why, it doesn't fit your mindset. Talk about being closed minded and naive. Grow up.

 

 

Actually, its because English is one of the easier languages to learn. But the REAL reason, is that English dialects can be understood by all. Think how many dialects there are. For instance, in France, there are several dialects, and not all can be understood by the Toads.

I do agree, there is no greater country than the good ole' USA. That can change though. With more and more of our citizens, such as Nuclearthreat, turning their backs to God...one day, He will do the same to us. We kill more unborn babies per year than died in Vietnam war... Maybe we aren't the greatest country world? But wait, Obama lovers think abortion is the cats meow...

But the reason pilots learn it, is that is the most common laguage. And the easily understood dialect part. I speak french, and comprende espanol. But if ya live in America. Try and friggin assimilate. I have nothing against Mexicans as a people, yet I hate their crooked government. Mexicans are some of the hardest working cultures that I know of. And yes, I do make fun of their truck mod performances... But hey, someone needs to be the butt of my jokes.
