I installed one last year, it is a st croix cost 1600 installed myself. Used 4 tons of pellets at 179 per ton. Saved many many dollars getting away from propane.

Unfortunately they operate with 2 fans, a blower fan and an exhaust fan, plus the auger that feeds the pellets...if the power goes out the fans and auger stop working. Any pellets in the burn chamber (if it was running at the time) burn out and the stove goes cold until the power is restored...unless you have a generator or a pellet stove like we have in the garage. It's a teeny tiny thing. No idea what brand, it was a freebie. It runs on electricity but has a 12 volt battery backup. I doubt it would heat much more than a 12' square room! At full power, on a cold winter day, it heats the garage to about 50°.
