I hope this is not a fraud.

This guy states he gets 110mpg out of his 87 Mustang with all the "tinkering" and mods he has done.

It also has 400HP.

Hard to say if this is BS or not. Loading it up with electronics may increase MPG, but I'm a little iffy on the HP numbers. Can't see an engine being that efficient with all that power. Who knows? Lord knows we need that type of technology. - Og

I will have to keep an eye out for this guy... He lives about an hour from me. I will let him test it out on my truck for free if it works..

Someone will find him dead in a ditch, no car to be found and traces of light sweet crude on the murder weapon lying next to him.

im gonna take a stab in the dark and guess he is using electronic valves which would do away with the cams, rockers, timing chains, probably has an electric water pump and efans, electric power steering pump, electric oil pump, which eliminating all of that rotating mass and the strain on the engine along with some good tuning i could see it happening.

Not sure, but he states in the article it is still a rod and piston engine.

in which helps confirm my guess, because if he had all the electronics i stated(which isnt impossible, benz was using electronic valves in the 60's) all he would need on the block would be crank, rods, pistons, heads with electric valves in them, an alternator, and a flywheel, and obvious intake and exhaust, possibly turbo charged direct injected

0-60 in 3 seconds? meeehh, tough to believe, but at 400 HP and 38% efficiency, maybe? I want to see this thing.

Well, that's saying something. From that guy's thinking, a gasser runs at 8-10% thermal efficiency. (Actually, in real life, 25% or so...but bear with me!) He's claiming 38% which would get him to the 80/100/110/125 MPGs that the various media outlets that ran with this story a la the "Run your car on 4 ounces of water for 100 miles" debacle they all fell hook line and sinker for.

In a dream world, this guy's doing fine. In reality, we have no shot at a 100% efficient engine and I doubt he's invented something that is so noteworthy that he can't lift up the hood for a look. He's got lawyers who've filed his patents, so what's the big deal, right?

Nevermind that he worked for Ford and he wasn't that valuable to avoid being laid off back in the day...or that he's been banned from Corral.net for scamming people over there.
