Didn't anyone at Huffington Post even read the story? The comments section is an excercise in left-wing groupthink.

Total = French, stongly against the war from the beginning.
BP and Shell are not USA companies at all
ExxonMobil and Chevron are obviously US companies.

That being said, who do these wingnuts think is going to develop the oil? Quite frankly, only the Western oil companies are good enough the do the job. The nationalized oil companies (Sinopec, Pemex, etc.) generally suck.

Sorry. I don't usually do this but feel compelled to make a correction.

I believe that the term should be "moonbats".

Ok? We're on "Bush's watch".

What is it that Bush is doing that will cause you to be cripple?

Do you dissagree with the assertion that the domestic problems in this country have been growing for decades?

Do you dissagree with the theory that if private companies invested in Iraqs oil trade that a possible side effect could be increased supply and lower fuel costs?

Do you think that a positive outcome in Iraq would be a good thing for our country and the entire world?

Where do you stand on personal accountability in this country? Not just for Bush, but for the people who make up our society?

Care to speculate on what your answers to these questions would be if we were on Obama's watch?

It sure sucks here. With Canada thawing out the tree business sucks here.

PaperMill gone, Sawmills closing or operating well below capacity. The only thing left here is defense industry.

Wow take off the blinders and see the big picture dude. There are areas that are hurting bad, no doubt. Look at the whole country. 5.5 unemployment is still considered full employment. GDP has grown every quarter since this slowdown. Definition of a recession is 2 straight quarters of negitive growth. The media sure is powerful talking everyone into talk of recession.

Bush's watch? How was the economy in 2006? Do some checking. Then the democrats took over. Gone south since. I have no love for the current republicans. They are acting to much like liberals. But put the blame where it belongs.

I hate to think my son's life is on the line for oil. Don't get me wrong I'm neither a Bush hater or an anti war freak, but if you're going to go over there and risk people's lives it better be for something a lot more important than padding someone's pockets with oil profits. If that's what it's about then maybe those oil companies profiting from it should break into their record profits a little and compensate the families of those who gave their lives for their little oil venture.

Do you agree that Bush doesn't have the power to do anything? As far as Obama, don't know. He's not at the helm. - Og

It is completely ridiculous to even think the War in Iraq is about oil.
