McCain/Huckabee?

http://www.usnews.com/blogs/capital-...veep-list.html

At the bottom of the article are comments worth going through, to get an idea of how people feel about this match-up. I noticed that the one thing missing in the comments is a mention of the Fair Tax. I'd think very seriously about voting for even Obama, if he got behind the Fair Tax. It amazes me that more people aren't better informed on this issue.

What do you guys think about Huckabee being on the ticket? Myself, I think he would be the best candidate for President; but, I'd take him as VP and not have to hold my nose for McCain when I vote. His personal religious views are not attractive to me; but, the fact that he is tolerant of those that don't share them IS.

Kind of surprising.
McCain has Arkansas locked down tight by 15 points.
He trails Michigan by a single point and a Rominie ticket should put him over.

He's not in a position to throw states away and should take advantage of any edge he can get.
Huckabee brings something to the table but, it seemed he was polarizing to many.

Personaly for me, Huckabee as VP would ease the pain should the unthinkable happen.

He's not very popular in Liberal strongholds. That's for sure. I think a lot of people can't get past his goofy name. It plays right into the stereotype of Southern Republicans. People in the Northeast probably visualize him with a pair of bib overalls and a straw hat. lol

His religious comments hurt him, too. A lot of people don't want to hear that stuff.

Of all the primary candidates for both sides, Huckabee was the second most gifted orator.

If I'm gonna get flim-flammed, at least make me think I'm gonna like it.

Picking a favorite politician is a lot like chosing a prefered method for your own execution.

I like Huckabee a lot as a person, but I think there are better choices out there.

Huckabee is a great speaker, and I like him much more than I do McCain. I also think Huckabee would take the job.

As a conservative, I would like to see McCain throw me a bone and pick Romney or some other conservative. Of course he won't, but that is one of the only things that would make me happier about eventually voting for McCain against Obama.
