I wonder why the economy is so poor.

 

Oh, another thing. Remember 9/11? Those terrorists assisted in destroying lives as well as our economy. Just look at all the things we had to do to prevent another attack after that horrible day. $$$$$$$$$$$$

I thinkn it is more than fair to say that the economy a year and a half ago was in FAR better shape than it is today. So while we might not have been expierencing huge gains economically they were not the .8-1% growth that first quarter 2008.

If you want my opinion it is because gas has more than doubled per gallon in the last year (not Bush's fault). its becasue the housing market went under due to a number of bad loans that banks gave out, things like ARMs and loaning money to people that could not afford it (not Bush's fault). The economy is in the tank becuase this country is scared. Not of terrorists, but of its own leaders, I know I am.

 

FX41 is right, There are many reasons why the economy is not very good right now. Gas......is the number one reason, housing market is another, economic uncertainity is a major concern of many. Speculators and others that control the oil supply are the major reason why gas is so high.

I don't agree with everything McCain says either, he is actually more libral on his social issues that I prefer...............HOWEVER, I have two daughters that I love and want to see grow up in the America I know and love. BARACK OBAMA is not the person that we need to run this country. Ask this question, "If we were attacked again like 9/11 and many Americans were killed and many more were in danger. Who would you rather have as our President?" Barack Obama (Who has never had any real experience whatsoever) or John McCain - A seasoned veteran of our armed forces that contains more character in his little pinky that Barack has in his whole body. John McCain will do what it takes to protect this country and our children. I wouldn't trust Barack as our President and would feel very uncertain of our future if he is elected.

Like him or not, John McCain is our guy now.........We either elect him to office or God help us!!!!!
