Let's go fly a kite
Up to the highest height
Let's go fly a kite
And send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let's go fly a kite!

*Everybody now*

I admin a forum - and we have ads and popups up the wazoo. However, the owner offers a Premiere Membership for a small monthly fee. One of the membership bennies is no popup or banner ads, the only ads a Premiere member will see is a small Google sidebar, the same one you see to the left of this screen. Premiere Members also get custom avatar privileges, a larger PM box, and stuff like that.

F paying more for what we should continue to get anyway.

I say we picket the site for a week...no hits, no revenue from the banners. That might wake them up

For everyone who says "Hey it's free, just live with it.", you really need to start thinking outside the box and not the cog in the machine approach.

If everyone was to leave F150Online.com and nobody posted information anymore then what use would it be to IB anymore? Absolutely NONE. There would be no want for corporations to bring IB ad revenue for the ads to the left of the box I'm typing in or the ad above the box I'm typing in.

So to say, the users of the forum don't have any power, is well...ridiculous.

There is nothing that F150Online.com sells, markets, or provides a service for, that could sustain a complete absense of users on it's forum.

A good "uprising" sounds fun!

I agree completely. Lose the pop-ups now.

I was reading a thread the other day and saw the little tan box at the top of the screen and thought to myself, cool IB has added that little message encouraging people to register like they have FTE. Then I realized it was a popup from Tribalfusion blocked by Firefox.

My first suspicion was that it was the result of spyware, then I saw an obnoxious flashing banner at the bottom of the page and found this thread indicating I was not alone. I hope it came as a result of an errant Google ad and is not actually a sign of things to come for F150online.com.

Sigh.

Could it be that everyone complaining just doesn't have a decent pop-up blocker? I haven't seen one pop-up add at all. I'm running IE6 too. I use the "dreaded" Norton and use Ad-Aware (free version) also. It's extremely rare for me to see any pop-ups.
