Ford screwed me !!!! (pissed)
The 09 Regcabs look pretty cool, and with a 6 speed and 5.4, will haul ***. I'd give it a shot.
i see your point about the 2 door standard bed but nice. I've never seen one in my life. All i see is XL 2 doors around here. I've never seen even an XLT 2 door standard bed 4x4 5.4 in the entire WNY. i would be pretty pissed too. That truck is exactly what i was looking for but now im gettin a frontier instead.
There are thousands of 2008's on dealer lots everywhere! When I was in today for service, at www.tasca.com they stated that they could not give away the 2008's that they have on the lot! Some of them are well equiped Lariats! Somebody out there has your truck on their lot with your name on it! You just gotta find it! Now quit your Bitchin & go find your new 2008 & get a great deal & stop your weinin!..............
Shooot man...Be in my shoes... Chrysler cancelled out my Brother and my orders on the 2008 Dodge Challengers. We both had $1000.00 deposits on them since December.
They will build them as 2009's, but we declined them. I'm still waiting on the other Challenger that has a VIN number to be built that i ordered from another dealership. I still don't know if i'm going to get a car yet!!!

I was wondering why you couldn't find a "built" truck until you said you wanted a regular cab. They are (relatively speaking) difficult to find set up as anything more than a standard work truck. I know, since my '05 regular cab is set up as an XLT with the 5.4 engine, and there was never a question that I would have to order it to get it set up that way.
The one question I have is why it took so long for the order to be processed -- you said you ordered two months ago? I ordered mine toward the end of May in 2005, and it was delivered to the dealer within a month. Two months should have been enough time for the truck to be built and delivered -- I'm wondering if someone at the dealership dropped the ball and simply failed to order you vehicle.....???

In 07 I got rid of my 04 lightning and ordered an optioned xlt reg gab with the mid size box. Had to special order it. Hated it.... sold it off and went back to a lightning.
perhaps you may also have not been happy with it also.

I just want a nicely upgraded truck, with full carpeting, power windows / locks, CD player, cruise control, in a not so common color, I guess {Stone Green} etc.
Easy, right ? .......until I throw in that "it absolutely HAS to be a regular cab, standard bed" :-(
The fact is, you can get trucks like I want, all day long, in an extended, or crew cab (which would be absolutely worthless to me..... in fact, because of the extra length, would be downright detrimental, but would cost several thousand $$$ more) and a short bed (5 1/2ft) which won't work for me either.
I had the same problem when I first looked at Tundra's.
And honestly, when driving around town, this is exactly what I see...... reg cab, standard beds, that are completely stripped down, and / or work trucks, "AND" nice, upgraded trucks, which are extended, or crew cabs, with 5 1/2ft beds.
