I think if you read the story, you will find that the officer who shot him had responded from a helicopter that had to land in a pasture nearby, minutes beofre any squad cars arrived. He couldn't cross the electric and barbed wire fence, so he yelled at the perp to stop stomping on the infant. When the perp kept on stomping on the infant's face, the officer decided he needed to shoot the perp. Good call.

Regardless, even if there was no fence keeping him from trying to tackle the guy, shooting him was the right action to take anyway. No questions asked.

What he was doing was taking another life of a helpless human. So the police is whitnessing a murder, and acted to stop it. You got it captain. If there was a fence there, fine. If there wasnt, what happened happened anyways. All im saying is, he got there and shot a man when there were completely non lethal ways to stop it. If he couldn't because of a fence, its up to a jury or the officials, which looks like they did their job. So I'm happy.
