I worked down there one summer and if there's ever a place for a mosquito festival, Clute is it. Never in my life have I ever seen skeeters so mean and so many.
And if you're not into rattlesnakes or mosquitoes, Marshall, TX has their annual fire ant festival every October. Only in Texas would anyone celebrate something so wicked!

The fire ants in Florida are a lot worse than Texas or should I say there are a lot more in Florida.

Marshall people are just a little crazy. They are a little to close to Louisianna, I think.

don't forget Kermit I have a friend that lived there when he was a kid and always told me if they were going to give Texas a enema that is where they would stick the tube

Yep, Kermit and Wink (birthplace of Roy Orbison). Why would anyone live there?
