87 is back down to 3.69 here at the truck stops on I-44 and Sam's (member price). Gaspricewatch.com says we are the cheapest in the country.

I think that Opec just heard that the US Government( department of energy)invested 30 million in GE, Ford and GM for the gas, E85 or Diesel plug in Hybrids that could be hitting the roads by 2011. Oil companies do not want to hear this kind of news. But is seems like this happens all the time, gas prices go up and then when there is word of new technology or investments in alternative fuels, gas miraculously goes down and alternatives seem to get pushed back in the bottom of the pile. Government research has been pushed aside time and time again, but I think this time with fuel prices hitting near $5 a gallon and nearly destroying the economy, we are going to see some big funding to find a new fuel alternative or new hybrid technology.

its the dam speculators in the market that are driving the price up. if we could regulate them it would help greatly...

Found this link and it is real good news

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080614/...i_ge/saudi_oil

The Saudis are concerned that sustained high oil prices will eventually slacken the world's appetite for oil, affecting them in the long run
I have been saying this for a long time and have been bashed for saying it, but the higher the prices and the quicker the world is going to run to a alternative and use less gasoline, the middle east is starting to relize this. Oil companies know they are on life support, they are on borrowed time, if they don't start lowering the prices, they are going put themselves out of buisness much sooner than later. Oil will still be needed for many products, but i would imagine that gasoline is the bread and butter for them, just like the F-150 is the bread and butter for Ford. Don't sell your truck yet, because gas will soon be $2 or $3 a gallon by September..
