And I can smell it all the way into the living room when the wind is right. Amazing.

Didn't you read the manual on your computer? Something like, keep drinks and food away from you keyboard.

Never done cocaine, but I'm only 58 years old. Just might get this thread back on track.

Have any of you guys ever been to Amsterdam? It does smell. And it's not pot. It's all that damn stagnant water sitting in the canals, not to mention the public urinals that empty into them. It's nasty, but what a cool city!

The drugs are NOT legal ! A common misconception.

Pot is actually illegal in all of Holland and in Amsterdam... they just enforce it like we enforce J-walking.

And yes, Amsterdam does have a "smell" to it, and I know its not the reefer. I have visited a few times (friends that live there) and must say, hot days its damn near un-bearable.

I went in December and there was no smell, and the streets weren't flooded with Hippies. Maybe I'll go back again this winter....

December would be a beautiful time to go, i'd assume. Haven't been then. I've gone in late july/early august (two different occasions). Went one time in Feburary... didn't smell then, but didn't stop raining much either.

The July trips, the street were flooded with Americans ! Definately wasn't expecting that one, but I guess the summer is the "time to visit" for most. Must be cause of school or something ?

I remember one time going, walking the street and seeing some group of people swimming in the canal nearby. My buddy laughed and quickly explained... said they must be tourist !

oh, and NCSU: love the sig BTW

We flew in Dec 15th, stayed till Dec 22nd. It was a bit on the chilly side, a couple days of mist type rain, but I'll take that over the stuff I've heard about summertime traveling. It was really cool to be able to walk about the city and not be totally overwhelmed by the crowds. Plus they had a big Christmas Tree set up just across the street from Dam Square which was really cool.

No way you'd catch me in one of those canals!!

This was one of my favorite signs we came across...

Nice ! See.... now that sounds like a good time to be there. It would nice to be able to do my "window shopping" in a little bit of privacy ! my next trip, i'll try for december. Might have ta wait a year tho. Me and a few buddies have made it a "ritual" to head out to Vegas for new years (fawkin crazy times ! )

Ya, I learned quick... i think i saw it my 2nd day there or so.

That sign is priceless ! Funny thing is... they still do it ! Specially once everyone gets hammered and the street are crowded
