Have you ever been involved with a road rage incident? If so, what happend?
about 3 months ago i was driving on the highway, an some stupid *** on his cell phone cut me off, I blew the horn and did the universal "What the hell!?!" sign. He slows down rolls down his window (mind you, we are doing 75mph an my windows up) an he starts yelling something. No idea..probably profanity..I wave like the a-hole i am and keep driving. He continues to try and cuss me out then pulls ahead of me and cuts me off AGAIN!! I got off at the next off-ramp because this guy obviously was pissed, an i dident want to die that day.

 

I miss my old car... I used to bump into those idiots in the fast lane doing 55 when they would refuse to get over to the right... its always some old person, female or black guy in a beat up bmw

 

You never know what type of mentally deranged idiot is behind the wheel nowadays! The best advice I could ever say is just make off like they do not even exist, because you never know what an idiot's state of mind is, especially if they are not taking their Meds or if they have weapons! ...........Years ago a dude here, shot & Killed another guy in a road rage incident with a cross-bow! He is still in the slammer bending over!.....

 

That's very true. On the other hand, that idiot behind the wheel doesn't know your malfunction either and that can be used to your advantage.

I'm geneally a very passive guy. For some reason when I'm driving my temper can flare up. Some people can get me really pissed off. I surprise myself sometimes. It's really not good. It's just hard to be patient when so many of the people we drive on the roads with have their head up their a$$es. There are so many people out there who drive like they are the only ones on the road. If everyone would just use a little common sense, things would run a lot smoother.

Now that gas prices are high and I've made the most recent driving challenge to get the best fuel economy I can, I've had to calm myself down when something happens. You just can't get good fuel economy when raging.

What it really comes down to is that road range is dangerous to all the people on the road. We'd all be safer if all of us, me especially, could just calm down a little.

no road rage on a merry-go-round, Everyone is just going in circles.

I find in the morning commute I merge early in the merge lane. The merge lane is about 1/2 mile but the highway traffic is bumper to bumper and is going about 10-15 mph. The cloverleaf merge is going 40mph, I usally slow and merge about 1/8-1/4 mile where there is a safe and avaible spot. Asshats behind me blow their horns go on to the shoulder to get around me and merge at the very end of the merge lane. Impatient clowns....

 

The difference is he probably started the road rage. I knew i was not going to stoop to his level (the guy who cut me off twice) an i simply took the next off-ramp because i dident want a bullet in my head over fallowing my ego.

 

Look, whatever you do to your ego, just keep it to yourself man!

 

Heres a tip, if some one is trying to do whatever with you on the highway.....drive away.

 

people are crazy out there. i f someone cuts you of etc... let it go. some people are just looking for any reason to be violent.

 

A friend of mine in that drives a semi has a coffee can full of nuts and bolts... he opens his window, and drops a handful of them on cars as they are passing by him if they pull any weird crap on him.

If I was driving a small Kia next to a big semi, and I heard "clink, clink, clink"... I think I'd crap my pants.

 

Bout 3-4 months ago when i lived in souther california i was on my phone and pulled in front of a car at night. so i quickly got over to the dirt so he could keep going and i could hang up my call. The two idiots circle the block and come back talkin crap in spanish. i picked up on the cus words and the racial slur and so i get out of my truck with my lug nut wrench in hand. they back up so i jump back in my truck and throw dirt on their little honda and take off. they follow me and i hear two small pings like when rocks fly out of your tires and hit your bed. then one loud bang. and i thought they threw a rock at my truck so i slam on my brakes and turn around and chase them. they got away. they jumped on interstate 10 and i couldnt keep up. when i stoped at the gas station to look at the damage i had three bullet holes in my tailgate and one right above my head by the third brake light. i think i learned my lesson that night about thinkin your tuff.

 

I think you also learned a lesson on carrying a gun with you from now on.

 

Never get out to confront.. even if you are armed... easier just to shot them in the face from your rolled down window then to pose as a huge *** target..

I carry concealed because of my job, an i know alot of people who carry guns (even legally like i do) think they are badass's because of it. I dont. I'm no hippy liberal, but IMO why start something you can backout of an not have to take someones life? Nowaday's almost everyone has a gun, legal or not legal. An alot of people will kill you for nearly nothing. That's why even in a road rage incident, I would never bring guns into the situation unless the other person already has an i have no other means of walking away alive other then to use deadly force.
