New italian greyhound pics...

Heres some newer pics of our two IGs playing with the neighbors sheltie puppy. Our black one (Sam) is about 3 1/2 years old and the grey one (Gus) is about 9 or 10 months old.

They're definately not lap dogs. More like 35mph of pure energy...lol!

My sister and brother in law have a retired greyhound. I think she only won one race in her career and came in 3rd twice. They adopted her I forgot how old she is, but you should see her run! I mean 3 or 4 steps she is at 35+ mph. Sometimes she gets in the mood to run. Watching her in the backyard run around in circles is nuts. I am sure she likes her new lifestyle laying around the house playing with the other dog. Instead of getting beat and yelled at.

I don't think they use Italian Greyhounds for racing. At least they don't around here. Those are regular greyhounds. Italians are much smaller. They only get about 13"-15" tall. Regular greyhounds are twice as tall and much faster.

This will give you a reference to their size:

That is right. Our black one weighs about 18 pounds (he's fully grown) and the grey one is about 13 pounds...still growing. Heres a pic of our black one meeting his full size counterpart at Petsmart last winter when they had the Greyhound rescue adoption going on. This will show the size difference between the two breeds. They are identical in shape and form just a smaller size.
