First Chop of the FX4

just playing around with some ideas and getting a feel for some mods i have in mind already, lol...

The truck was purchased with missing tow hooks and fog lights, which are being replaced right now. The truck will be a tribute to my Mustang Bullitt, so you will see some common themes with 'the blackening' as I like to call it...

Photoshopped in:
* Fog lights
* Darker lenses for headlights and taillights
* Saleen S331 grill insert
* Black Nerf bars
* Blacked out the fender emblem
* Bullitt fuel door

still need to add black wheels and larger tires....

While your 'blackening' you should get a black FX4 sticker like BLACKOUT-FX4's truck has.

that's on the list! (but mine will be more custom) Before I get too crazy with the fun stuff I'm going to have the bed Rhino Lined and get those nerf bars, then possibly a tool box for the bed, then on to the goodies. a very good friend of mine owns a parts store and is trying to talk me into putting a Saleen blower on it! I told her when I get my 90+% employee discount, we'll talk turkey!

Excellent Photoshop work.

Skip changing the fuel door. "The blackening" shouldn't involve after-market shiny crap.

Otherwise, looking very sharp.

X2! Do you have the gray headlights in there now?

Check out www.billetbadges.com They can make custom fender badges, and they have a black version. That's who made mine...

PS: Do you think you could PS my truck so the two-tone is gone and the whole thing is black? My limited MS Paint skills couldn't handle it.

or any other image you find in my gallery. Thanks!!!

Thanks for the comments everyone!
I haven't decided on wheels/tires yet... I'll be going from the stock 17"s to 18"s, i know that much right now. (Don't want to go to 20"s because i don't care for the look on a 4x4, plus I heard you lose about 500lb towing capacity going that big - can anyone confirm that?) I want it to look beefy without being too over the top and while keeping the ability to tow a trailer with my Mustang on it.

lol, I've heard that same comment on another site I posted the chop on,
I'm not 100% sold on the idea of it, but here's my reasoning behind it. I'm not sure if you are into Mustangs or not, but the '01 Bullitt was a limited production run specialty Mustang. They only made 5582 of them, and of those, only 1,818 were black. (The others were Dark highland Green and True Blue.) But all of them came stock with the brushed aluminum Bullitt fuel door. On MY Bullitt, I have blacked out everything except that fuel door, since that's kind of a signature piece that differentiates the Bullitts from other Mustangs. And being that the FX4 is being geared towards being a tribute to MY Bullitt, I was wanting to keep that brushed aluminum fuel door element in the mix. Yes, it throws off the whole 'blackening' thing, but it's unique, and it's a tribute at the same time.

Affirmative on the gray headlights. Thanks for the link, I'll check them out and see what kind of trouble I can get to on there, haha.
I'll take a look at the PS job when I get home.

The first thing I thought after reading your mods and seeing the photochop was a big "hell no" to the fuel door. Then, after reading your reasoning, I like it. Plus, it'll be def. different, in a good way. I say go with it. You have a reason for it, and the whole package looks sick. Gl and post pics when you get 'er done

I like what you've got planned. My only suggestion would be to lose the nerf bars, the front license plate holder, and either drop the stickers or black those out as well.
