Yes, if you live long enough history does tend to repeat. Iraq has always looked a lot like Vietnam to me.

When the price of gasoline goes way up, the voters cry. The government, trying to appease the voters, institutes price controls. Then the voters cannot buy gasoline at any price. Then the government changes.

The price of health care, and thus health insurance goes up. The voters cry, but refuse to give up their cable TV. The government institutes price controls. Now the voters can't get health care at any cost. Then the government changes.

I was only in elementary school during the 70's, but even at that tender age I pretty much knew everything about the decade (music, fashion, cars, etc.) sucked!
