The Tundra is the cat's meow, and one sweet-**** truck.

Yep, if the big three broke the numbers down into 1500, 2500, 3500, etc (150, 250, 350, etc.) then teh numbers would be a lot closer.

While I know the 150 sells better than teh 250 & 350, for grins, lets just divide the numbers by three, shall we?

That puts the F-150 it 78,641, giving it a 6 to 1 advantage over the Tundra. Still a beating, but when you consider margins, I guarantee you, Toyota is making far more on each Tundra they sell, than Ford is on every F-150. Probably 6 times more.

I say that because I read a few years ago, that Nissan (The RC Cola) was making about $1,500 profit on every Titan, and Ford (Coca-Cola) (thanks to massive overhead) was making about $400 in profit for every F-150. So, if the Titan had a 3:1 advantage over Ford in Profit, I'd bet Toyota's margins are greater.

But, all most care about is the surface number (units sold). There's more to consider- when determining if a product is successful, or not.

That said, unless F-150's start exploding when you start the truck, the Tundra will never match them in units sold. Chevy might (And GM does already, when Chevy & GMC are combined), but not Toyota.

Nobody has a chance now to touch those numbers with the cost of gas. The F-150 will always be the leading Truck in sales. But now truck sales are sinking so fast that all truck sales are in jeapordy.

Just keep in mind the the "best selling" doesn't always mean the "best".

So technically, both of these "truck names" listed are part of GENERAL MOTORS and combined, consistantly OUTSELL F-SERIES.

Get used to it. You'll find it will be the same cast of charactors riding your coat tails making stupid assumptions because you actually can see things around here with an open mind. ( aka, not blinded by the blue light )

I find it funny that we can still debate over which truck is the best selling by which make's sales % are less in the toilet.....

You'll have to admit it looked a little fishy. June join date and you pick JB's quote about the Tundra to respond to.

Yes, it is a fact and welcome.

Thanks for the welcome, I guess I just don't think like that. Who has time to be a troll? I just can't stand closed minded people. I have no problem with the Tundra or GMC. The new Chevy's look like *** though.

General discussion post do not count. If they did most of us would be around 12-15k.

Hersh
I see your point regarding profit made, but also keep in mind all of those F-150's require service and Ford parts in some cases to keep them running. I would be willing to bet a manufacturer makes more on the maintenece of a vehicle than they do on the initial sale, with 6x more 150's running around you can bet Ford is doing rather well in parts

GD post-****** can attest, you won't recieve any post count unless you step into the other sections and post. This is the only area (besides classifieds) that you don't get points for. Welcome

EDIT: scott beat me to it... oh well. Nonetheless, hide your wallet if you are staying long. Glad to have you though!
