The United States had no business attacking and invading a country that was no threat to us either. Think of all the lives lost and maimed and billions it's costing and how we could have used that money here in our own country.

As far as Apples to Oranges, I don't think so. Money is just green.
I can spend 25 to buy you a beer and we can talk things out
or we can beat the crap out of each other and the hospital bill is 100.

I am talking about the first four quotes I posted a the start of this thread.

I bet you werent saying that imediately after 9/11. The country as a whole was fully behind the war at that time. They just abondoned ship and are now condeming the same war they supported a few years ago.

Well, we didn't invade Iraq until almost 2 years later (March 2003). I think that's what most people think about when they say "the war". Many have forgoten about Afghanistan.

What would be nice is if the US showed it's people and the world, what intelligence they used to prove we were righteous in invading either country, then I think support for the war woudl be higher. However, everything we've been shown to date, shows us that we didn't know s**t, and we went into this war half-cokked.

Had we gone to war with Russia back in the 1960's during the Cuban missle crisis, we might all be dead now (or never born), but- at least we knew we were righteous. They showed their intel at the United Nations, pictures of misslies being put together in Cuba, along with Russian troops and equipment.

We didn't have that this time.

I was saying exactly that then. I'm not really into unprovoked wars. Since it was pretty common knowledge after we were attacked, that the people who attacked us were al qaeda based largely out of Afghanistan NOT Iraq. Did they really think Iraq was a bigger threat than Iran or North Korea? We didn't attack them. I'm pretty sure that if even half the troops we have in Irag now were in Afghanistan we might even have Osama by now.

Now that WOMD were not found it is easy to sing a different tune. Hindsight is 20/20, and I think we pretty much all agree it was a poor decision now. I fail to see where wasting more money now is going to help out situation here in the states

My vote is to just stay out of their business. Bush wants to fight them, Obama wants to feed them. Both waste money we don't have
