I'd keep the Springfield XD ...

Don't start that battle, it'll never end so it's pointless.

I have a Glock 23 (.40 S&W) with night sights. They only have a trigger safety which works by pulling back directly on the trigger (as opposed to sideways force on the trigger.)

The Glock 23 is considered a "compact" model, with a 13 round magazine.

It is a good concealed carry weapon, but I still prefer my Colt .45 acp over the Glock for stopping power, plus I'm more used to it from my military days.

I also like my .44 magnum Ruger Super Blackhawk when it comes to pure firepower

.44 magnum has ALOT of stopping power, but i dont know of anything in .44 mag that comes in semi. They are mostly revolvers (someone correct me if im wrong) an even though revolvers are very dependable i like the ablity to put 12 rounds down-range within a couple seconds without having to reload.

They are also kinda fun to bump-fire

The Desert Eagle can be had in a .44 Mag but would be tough to conceal.

I have to ask, why would a Glock stop someone and an XD won't? (I can't wait for the answer. This should be amusing.)

The last time I checked, a 40 cal round crashing into someones chest or nugget didn't care what gun it came from. I'll take a gun that I can shoot accurately everytime over one that "seems" to have a better "name". And this comes from someone who carried a glock 30 for years, but now carries a M&P 40. Loved the power of the 45 ACP but I can shoot the M&P much better which may save my life.

A hit with a 22 beats a miss with a 44 mag every time.

That's good reasoning. Personally I'm more accurate with my .45 acp than I am with my .40 S&W.

That's why you should make the first shot count and not miss!
