With gas getting closer to $4.00/gallon- even though oil prices have declined. Who is going to keep their trucks, no matter what?
Back are the days from 2005, when gas stations raped us after Hurricane Katrina. I thought the $75 - $90 fill ups were bad, but now a fill up takes a "benjamin".
The Edge is not as bad ($54 - $75).
But, with lease-end only 12 months away, we're thinking hard about whether or not we should keep the buck fifty, trade it on a used Expedition (low payment, and can still use the rims), or dith our final full size truck, and gt a small ute (Escape).
Decisions, decisions...
So, in the face of rising gas prices, and non-rising salaries. What are you guys & gals going to do? Or, what have you done?

I'll keep mine. The gas mileage is not terrible, it's in great shape, and it's COMFORTABLE. The book value has taken a HUGE hit recently. I can afford to feed it no problem. I don't NEED a truck, but it does come in handy. I am cutting down on my discretionary driving though.
I have a old truck (99) obviously paid for and im going to get a 750 shadow in a few weeks as a daily driver (60+mpg) wifey is going to get a honda reflex as a daily driver (85+) and we will keep her 04 focus for long trips so not getting rid of anything just adding a few as high mpgs alts to the stable
Definitely keeping the biatch! I like it too much, and I won't drive an econo box.
If I had to drive to work 5 days a week any distance, then things might be different. I'd just buy a POS econo box in that case, but I have a place up north, and hauling the boat and gear and passengers happens best in the Screw. The 4 hour drive north isn't cheap on gas, plus gas is a few bux more up there, but I don't go for 2 days either. It's usually at least a week at a time, so no big deal.

I'm keeping mine. It's paid off, and if I were to sell it now, I wouldn't get **** for it, so it doesn't make much sense to sell it now.

You can pry the keys to my V-8 F-150 out of my cold dead hands! Its paid for, and I have had it since mile 1, so I know its meticulously cared for. A 2000 with just a hint over 72,000 miles with no major issues, I plan on keeping this guy for awhile!
Hey hersh what kinda MPGs you gettin in the edge? The 15-16 MPG i got in it when i had one for a weekend steered me away from it and into an escape when i got out of my truck. Im doin 24 MPG with the little white sunavabich.
Im keeping mine
I have a little toyota pickup that I drive to and from work for the gas mileage thing it gets like 20 mpg its a single cab 94 4x4 lifted on 33's. I love the Ford way to much to get rid of it. Even if it just sits and looks pretty haha jk

I move in about 6 months to attend law school elsewhere (hopefully Waco in January) and the thought of driving my truck in a bigger city saddens me.
I'm going to look into insurance costs of a bike, but a bike has its own problems. I don't necessarily care to have two insurance bills and can't see how the bike could EVER save me enough on gas to make up for the insurance cost and MOST importantly I don't trust other drivers not to slam into me.
I've been thinkin a Ford Fusion would be a sweet little sedan to switch to from my truck. Once I'm out of school, loans are paid down, etc, I will get another truck, but I've got another 4 years before I'm out of law school.
