Buying new car

Don't worry, not giving up the truck, but its time to get the old lady something new, that she can be proud of and that gets good gas mileage.

In the running:

Focus

Escape

Edge

Would most likely go used and the Edge is really on our high end wish list, but does anybody have expierence with any of these models that can lend some insight?

Thanks,

FX

If you are leaning towards the Focus or a car, take a look at the 4cyl Fusion. I love mine.

I would go with the Edge, then the Escape followed by the Focus. The Edge is real nice but I guess to some degree it depends if you need the space of the first two options?

I'd try to find an Edge used with like 10,000 miles on it or even less than that. You get a nearly new vehicle at about 3/4 of the price new, or even less.

What about a Fusion? If so, I'd say Fusion or Edge. If not, than the Edge or nothing.

Parker, which is south metro area.

The only reason that I'm not going Edge first is money, I can get a used focus or escape for far lesser than an edge. It is actually both of ours' first choices

My pre-liminary vote is Fusion too!

I was just about to start a thread asking about 'em. I'll be moving to a bigger city soon and I won't be using the truck NEARLY as much, and while in law school I don't figure I'll have much time to go camping in crazy places I can't get to in a car.
Go test drive one, they are great to drive. The v-6 AWD is very fun, but I didn't want to spend that much plus its only available in an auto trans. If you wait for the 09's to come out, the I4 will have an additional 10 hp and a 6 speed manual instead of the 5.

Depending on what you are looking for (car vs cuv) I'd choose Focus first based on looks and performance, Escape for size / hauling, and lastly the Edge. I'm still not that in love with the latter choice personally.
