I use what is called a NIC crossover cable.
Jst like a network USB Just has a pin or two reversed.

Do you by chance have a router in use?

Just go to any computer store and ask for a crossover cable. Then turn off the router and make neither one is physically connected to the router. Then just plug the crossover cable in the network jack of both computers. Then you should be able to move the files across, it may take some time depending on how much data you need to transfer.

You can just connect the old computer to the router and make a network connection. For that you just use a regular network cable. You prbably have one laying around somewhere.

1. Pull the hard drive out of her computer.

2. Connect it to yours using this adapter:

or just pop the drive in yours as a slave and copy over. You can unhook your cd-rom and use that connection if need be. Don't forget to move the jumper over and then back (if connecting as a slave) when you put it back in your mom's.
Connecting to the router and enabling file sharing is the easiest method though.

just get a usb cable, plug one end into your usb port, and the other into hers. it will read just like a flash drive or external hard drive.

forgot to say BRIDGED usb to usb. just a normal one shouldnt work. the bridged one can actually be used to create a network connection between 2 computers, and they can share an internet connection one computer. that way, if you have the ethernet port in use, you dont have to loose access to f150online.

Pics are files. You don't have to network anything to copy files but you CAN.
