Tracking an F150 on order ???

I seem to remember somebody saying that I could get some sort of order # which would allow me to track the progress (like when it hits the paint building, when they drop a motor in it, when it ships, etc) on my F150, which I ordered brand new, from the factory just over a month ago. I was told 4 to 6 weeks. Feels like its been about 4 to 6 months already though !

Well yes....... I'm getting ancy as hell over here ! Tired of looking at the boat in my front yard, with nothing to pull the dang thing ! Had I known that my old, worn out beater truck was going to sell as quickly as it did, I'd have held onto it a few more weeks.....

Anybody ?

Thank you,
Fish

When I ordered my '05 F-150 I was able to track when the vehicle was serialized, scheduled for production, shipped, etc. You needed to have the VIN and the dealer number, which usually appears on the order sheet that your dealer has you sign off on with an ordered truck.

However, I was not able to do the same thing with my '08 Mustang -- Ford seems to have changed their system making it inaccessible to individual customers.....

Wow, that would be cool!

In the past when I have ordered trucks from Ford, my dealer could tell me a build date, and that's about it.

I've always thought it would be cool if there was a way to know it's being built at Rouge, and then do the factory tour that day.

Hey A2S.....

heck yea ! Then you could be like, "Hey dude ! Put down that darn twinky, before you handle that part" !

Plus, then I could tell them, "My name is Christopher S. Ford...... I'm here looking for future prospects, for the upper eschalons, of quality control" ! ;-) Starting pay is 500K annual, plus bonuses. Of course we will be pulling this one off of the line, for individual quality inspection, this afternoon :-) LOL

Peace,
Fish
