Jay Leno says Ford doesn't get it! - He's Right!!!!!
This sucks...
You guys had it easy back in the 80's and 90's... now I'm stuck with high gas prices, and crap.
Hell, I was planning on a trip down to Florida this summer... ya, that ain't gonna happen with gas. Hell, it would get cost me more to get down there than I would spend doing crap down there!
It is so unfair.
But it's life.

It will ease the cost to the consumer before alternative fuels and energy become more readily available, which at the current rate isn't happening anytime soon.
i saw a interview with the c.e.o of shell oil and he was saying they could have oil flowing out of alaska within 6-9 months. the anwar chunk of land is something like 15 million acres. the oil companys are asking for around 500k acres. is that really gonnsa mess anything up?? id say no.
I don't like any of them! They are all out to screw us over so bad! I'm thinking of moving outta here United States & start my own country!....
He's also wrong about Harley-Davidson
HD lobbied for, and recieved, a 100% duty on bikes with motors 701cc and larger. This gave HD the breathing room -- the absence of competition -- to find ways to make their outdated (still) technology marketable. It did not hurt to have Ra Ra Reagen (who I voted for 2X) in the White House promoting all things American.
The duty on "liter-bikes" also gave us the most radical mid-size bikes. We now enjoy 500/600/700cc bikes that run, stop and turn on a dime.
HD would like have been sold for scrap without government protection.

Here's another issue people forget. With outsourcing, companies started this heavily years and years ago to the point where now I know companies who have the littelest of things manufactured overseas. Well now your going to see a lot more companies go under or claim bk, the rising fuel cost and other issues (low dollar etc) is killing US based entities with overseas product etc.
My biz partner has a large trust that is held by Barclays in UK. Due date was this end of May, but few months ago he was going to pledge a portion to an institution here for some investments. Barclays said no problem, and that was it, could never reach the trust handlers there again or really anyone as they have the most retarded setup. Well we get an email back from one of the trust guys there that basically said "I don't understand what it is with Americans and rushing, no wonder everyone hates you people, f#$% off, I'll get to it when I want to" .....there was more but that was gist, that was actually sent to his attorney by Barclays in response to an email he sent after he hadn't heard back for over a month and was just looking for an update (of which all they had to do was take 10 minutes to draw up the auth docs to allow pledge and thats it)

When I was a kid, I pumped Texaco Sky Chief for a living......okay, date money. I pumped Sky Chief, 105 octane gas for $0.18 a gallon. I put the 0 dollars in there so you'd understand eighteen cents a gallon.
back in the mid-late 90's I used to put in a few gallons of 110 octane into my turbo car for a night of racing. I was paying $4 back then for it and thought that was so high compared to the 1.00 for 93 octane gas.
