Missing jury duty....
I received a letter telling me that I was assigned jury duty for the monty of May. I was to call a certian number at a certian time. I did and I did not have to report for that week. However, the next week I forgot to call the number and I just realized it today. The lady said I was supposed to report but there were just enough people to serve on the court and that I was fine and lucky too because this was going to be a long trial.
My question is, will I be penalized in any way for not showing up at all although there were enough people to serve? Again, the lady said I was fine and I would have been in trouble if there were not enough people to serve. I don't want to find out I have some warrant the next time I get pulled over so I want to get this resolved as soon as possible. I can't call and find out until Monday so that's why I came here to ask. Thank you.

if she says your fine then id say your fine, just dont get pulled over till tuesday(monday is memorial day) and call in to make sure things are clear. or call your police department and ask if you have a warrent
Called the county sherrif and no warrant for my name... wondering how long it would take to get a warrant entered in to the system IF they put one out. Thank you for your input!
"uh yeah, i missed jury duty an i wanted to know if i have a warrent"
"Yes sir, there has been a warrent issued for your arrest"
"ohh..damn.."
"Do you know were i live?"
"yes.."

Ive been a over the road truck driver for most of the past 8 years every time I get a jury notice I have my wife call in and tell them I'm a truck driver they log it say OK and I don't hear anything for 6-12 months and then we do it again.
My next door neighbor just throws them away and says let them prove that I received it, he's been doing that for 15 years never had any repercussions.

Jury duty for me mega-sucks because I live on the far northwest edge of Harris County and have to battle traffic all the way into downtown Houston. Plus, my opinion of being on a jury is that if the guy is there in court, he's already half guilty, so they generally don't want me on the jury anyways......
