Which tire would you use?

I recently lifted my Titan, and I know this is a Ford forum but I figured there'd be a lot of off road enthusiasts etc.. in here who can help me make sense of a decision. First of all, my truck is a 2WD. Secondly, I will take it off-road MAYBE 5% of the time (of all my driving). Most, if not all, of my driving will be done on the street. Anyway, I ordered some tires last night from Discount Tire and everyone is bitching that they will be too small and I will be sorry and I should have gone larger. I ordered 295/70/17 which is essentially a 33.3" tire, and I have about 6.5" of lift up front and 4" out back. Everyone says I should have gone with a 35" tire, which doesn't make much sense to me when I won't be off-roading very much anyway. So which would you choose, if you were in my shoes? Hey, that rhymes!

I have to agree that a 35" tire is going to look much better. Even though you don't offroad the Titan has some pretty decent sized wheel wells, infact doesnt it come with 33" tires on the offroad package from the factory? 33"s on a fullsize lifted truck would just look out of proportion to me. lets see some pics

Well **** maybe I should cancel the order, eh? There's an auction ending on a set of 35's this morning. What to do, what to do... choices choices.

First and foremost, cancel the order. Second, what kind of tires is the auction for?

Get the Mickey Thompson Baja ATZ. They look way better and last quite a while too.

The BFG A/T KO is one of the most overhyped, overpriced tires on the market IMO. Not that its a bad tire, but they cost an arm and a leg and have terrible wet weather traction. I really liked my Dunlop Mud Rovers. Decent price, great traction and not too bad on noise

Consider this too, I could be getting a whole set of BFG's for $640. That's a steal. And, it rains maybe 1-2 days a year here.

Does the lower price make it worth it?

The Baja ATZ's are $233 per tire from 4 Wheel Parts. A little out of my range...

I've got a question............ Not to be an *** but if you have a Titan, why not ask this on a Titan forum? They will have specifics that won't be much good here. Just a thaught, consider yourself 2 cents richer!

Because nobody is awake on that one. You crazy F-150 owners are up at the crack of dawn running to the window to admire a beautiful truck. Plus, it's just a general tire question more so than Titan related. You could throw in anything there really (Ram, Dakota, Silverado, Tundra, etc....)

Thanks for asking though.

Plus we just have great taste Your right, the BFG's that is a steal! Honestly for that price and with good weather I would go the BFG route. You can expect 45-50k out of those tires even if you are a little rough on them.

I have to agree with Scott on this one, especially the "Great Taste" part. Given your situation and that price, I'd pull the trigger on the 35 BFGs also. It will look a lot better than the 33's.

Thanks. I'll check it out. I just am regretting having to drive to Yorba Linda to pick the damn things up, even though it's only 93 miles from here.

Get the BFG's. That's a darn good deal. I've had twos sets of BFG A/T's in the past, always got 35k out of them and they never let me down. Very quiet on the road and work well off-road when needed.
