HDTV, HDMI, DVI Question

I have an older Sony Vega HDTV. The only digital video input on the TV is a DVI connection. I recently picked up a new Bluray player and I have High-def cable. The Blu-Ray has an HDMI port (amongst other analog ports) and the cable box has either an HDMI or a DVI port (as well as the analog ports). My problem is that the TV still only has the single DVI port for digital video.

Does anybody know of a place or company or site that may make a splitter that will allow me to plug both the Blu-Ray and the cBle box into the DVI port on the back of my TV?

I still have the option of going back to an analog component video for one of the two components, but that sort of defeats the digital signal. And no, I will not be replacing this TV with a new one anytime soon, as bathroom and kitchen upgrade projects will be consuming most of the funds for now.

Thanks in advance.

Google is your friend. Here you go.

The Belkin PureAV HDMI™ 2-to-1 Video Switch allows you to connect to and switch among two high-definition, digital-video source devices through only one High-Definition Multimedia InterfaceTM (HDMI) or Digital Visual Interface (DVI)* connection on your high-definition television (HDTV).

Its quick adoption made HDMI one of the most common audio video connections available. It is used on high-definition components, such as HDTVs, up-converting DVD players, HD cable/satellite set-top boxes, entertainment computers, Blu-ray® and HD-DVD players. This has created a bottleneck at the HDTV connection—with a common scenario featuring two HDMI/DVI sources to only one HDMI/DVI input. The PureAV HDMI 2-to-1 Video Switch lets you connect two sources into one HDMI input on your HDTV. Then, simply select from among the source devices either by pressing the input-selector button on the Switch itself, or by using the included remote control to directly select a source.

The Switch offers an ideal way to connect digital displays such as HDTVs, plasma displays, DLP TVs, LCD TVs, and projectors. HDMI also provides an all-digital connection between such source devices as HDTVs, DVD players/recorders, HD-DVD and Blu-ray players, PlayStation® 3 and Xbox 360TM Elite systems, digital cable/satellite set-top boxes, and AV receivers.

Try looking at www.audioholics.com I am sure that in either their shopping section or in their forums you will find a splitter. Or, you can just do what I did and get a control unit and surround sound and run it all through there with only one cable running to the TV.

Are there component cable connections available on the Sony and Blueray? I don't mean composite where you only have the yellow video plug but component where you have the three cables for video plus the two for sound.

If so you could just use those and you would probably see no difference from a dvi connection.

That's what I did with my older TV. But as soon as my money comes in from coaching track this season I see a 42" LCD HDTV in my future...

That sounds like a good plan, but I decided to put in a projector and screen. I got an intro. projector and screen for around the same price as an LCD. The screen in 92'' and will look great in the basement.
