First off, care to tell us the make and model of the laptop?
And secondly, you listed two CPU's.

XPS M1530 is a Dell, and something got cut off in the copy/paste - that's a Core 2 Duo.

Looks good. Looks like pretty much the same desktop I was going to order. Just a different processor and video card. Did you pull the trigger on it yet?

XP would have been an UPGRADE compared to Vista.

Other than that, it sounds like a great machine.

You are stuck with Vista on that one - XP drivers are not available.

You love that Vista so much....that in less than a year you'll have a Mac.

Been a long time PC/MS guy, since Windows 3.1, Vista is the product that will end MS.

Wonder if the Windows 7 is just re branded XP. Hope so for the sake of MS..Apple continues to post record sales. Thanks BILL!!

Yeah trust me I know . I'm rooted pretty deep within the new FAB22. That's where I get all my free engineering sample extreme editions for each new series of chips. ES QX9650 should be arriving within a week.

Vista might not be perfect but it's far from as bad as a lot of people say it is. "Word" spreads like a plague. It's a lot better than the first versions.

If you game at all, you will appreciate Vista. The DX10 graphics platform is stunning.

I would have gone with a faster CPU, but other than that it is a very good setup for a laptop.
