Pistols have to be comfortable in your hand to qualify them to be a good gun for youself. A lot of people don't like the way Glocks feel in their hand, a lot of people do. A lot of people don't like the way the Springfield's feel in their hand, a lot of people do. It's a matter of personal preference.

Yeah, I like the grip safty. It just makes sense, to fire the gun you MUST be holding the gun correctly. No accidents there.

Yea but what if you were OCing or CCing and had to draw fast and didn't have the time to hold the gun properly. Safeties are good for the range IMO, but not very good for a defensive weapon.

Very nice gun, they are very well built. I almost bought one about a year ago but i didn't like the way it fit my hand. i ended up buying a CZ 75 for about the same price.

How else are you going to fire the gun without holding it correctly. Like How? I just can't picture it

with a grip saftey you have to have a positive grip on the gun without this if you are mis-alligned ie: holding to low on the grip the gun may be un-controlable, admitedly this is usually only an issue with shooters that do not have much expereance but it has happened in stress situations also it gives a good excuse to throw a cool looking bevertail on slicked up 1911

When i bought my CZ 75 the was an Israeli handgun there i believe it almost looked like a 1911, nice looking gun. i was really surprised with the CZ 75 all the slides were surfaced ground and honed.

the baby eagle kinda has the 1911 look but its more along the lines of a EAA witness (another 75 clone) great guns all but the baby eagle has a parkerized finnish that is as durable as my glock, its more accurate than any fixed sight gun Ive ever shotand more reliable than my 1911's all for $478.00 NIB I still love my 1911's but its a toss-up between it and the taurus sp 101 for daily carry

I have a Glock 35 (competition .40). It was a toss up between the XD and Glock. I chose glock because of durability. You can destroy this gun and it will still fire. I liked the way it fit in my hand. Its awkward at first, but it ensures that you are holding it level.

My next gun will be either an XD or D. Eagle

People have been doing it with 1911's for years and years now. A good safety is a great thing, a poorly placed or designed safety is a problem.

I know that I feel more comfortable carrying my xd concealed than the glock I had, I feel safer with it loaded and one in the chamber with the extra safty of the xd. The glock and xd are both great pistols, there are positives and negatives of each I like the xd better personally because of the 1911 grip angle, loaded chamber indicator,(ocked indicator, the grip and trigger safety, metal trigger, metal sights, its heavier, has less recoil, and it doesn't have the finger groves on the grip.

BTW 20,000 rounds and then being tortured seems pretty tuff.

Also congrats on the new gun purchase have fun and be safe.

I immensly dislike loaded chamber indicators in my opinion they promote a false sense of security all guns need to be treated as loaded unless they are disassembled. Ive been handeling firearms for 15 years or so, do most of my own modifications, grip safties, barrel fitting and the like the only accidental discharge ive ever had was on a gun that had a nub on the back of the striker that was supposed to pop out when it was coked/ loaded chamber my freind failed to tell me that the nub had brken off and i put a .380 round thru the floor of my brand new house i know most of the pistols have the loaded round indictor made of steel and this was a pos lorcin or davis i dont remember wich but i still dont like them the best safty on any gun is the gray matter between your ears if that is not sufficent carry pepper spray, just my .02

You dislike all of them because of one broken one? The XD has a separate one for each, a metal one on top that if it was broken there would be a hole in the gun, this is the loaded chamber indicator. Then it has a metal pin that sticks slightly out the rear of the slide when the gun is (ocked, so it will show you if the gun is loaded and or if it is (ocked they work independently. I agree treat all weapons as if they are loaded, but those 2 features are nice.
