Question Have questions about power inverters

I have done some searching on the web but havn't found the info that I am looking for. I want to put a power inverter into my new work van, the inverter would only be used for powering battery chargers for 18V cordless tools (2-3 chargers at a time)

How big of an inverter should I be looking for?
What would be a good brand to buy?
About how long would it take the 18V chargers to drain a car battery (with 600 CCA) to the point that the van won't be able to start?

TIA
Paul

My 18 volt charger (granted, its a dirt cheap Harbor Freight) draws 20 volt/amps (watts) from 120VAC. So, you should be able to use a $30 300 watt job, they sell them at Sam's Club. You should get at least a few hours out of it before the battery starts getting low. Your van may have a shutdown circuit anyway that kills all accessories when the battery gets down to a certain level.

If you have a good Radio Shack or similar electronics store id start there. find the amperage that each charger draws and add that together. add another 10 or so amps for each charger for safety and match that to the amperage rating on the inverter. make sure you find one with a low voltage shutoff so you dont have to worry about it.
