Anyone here have this device? If so, can you give me some opinions.
I've done a bunch of research on it and I think it's my next mobile device but, I want to make sure I'm not missing something...
The draw to this device, for me, is:
1. WiFi
2. WinMobile 6 (I already have WinMobile 5 with a bunch of third party apps)
3. Mobile MS Office (I have a need for Pocket Excel w/ my job)
4. Full qwerty
5. WiFi (yeah, I know I'm saying it twice -- I could really use Wireless G).
Thoughts? Comments?

My boss has one. As well as our Landscape Architect. The boss loves it. It does everything he needs and more. The LA hates it, but he's an old timey kind of guy.
I think it's great. Once you figure it out, it's really easy to wifi between computer/phone and vice versa. The windows app. is awesome. Being able to fully transfer contacts/emails/etc from outlook to the phone allows the boss to leave the office more often (bonus for me.)

I've been using the Tilt since November, and prior to that I had the 8525 and before that the 8125. Overall, I think it, along with all of the HTC devices in this form factor, are excellent. WinMo6 is good, but there are still a few add-ons that make it better. My favorite is PIEPlus, which improves PIE 500%. 3G rocks, as does being able to tether the phone to my PC when no WiFi is available. The tilting feature is a bit overrated, IMO. If you get one, get a screen protector.

Thank you, sirs. Most appreciated.
Steve - you touch on a concern of mine simply because I like to have a device that I know won't be discontinued immediately after I buy it and replaced with a new-fangled gizmo that blows my device out of the water.
Based upon reading at howardforums, it doesn't seem to have a replacement that is near enough to the end of the pipe that people are talking about it. That gives me some comfort but, I'm certain that it'll be obsolete by the end of the contract. That's okay - I'll snag a used device and upgrade, I guess...
Thanks for the tip on the screen protector. Do you have any recommendations? What do you use?
I currently tether to my Moto Q for connectivity via the cell data system as well and concur; this is something that I cannot loose (although I use a handy littlle program called pdanet).
I'm looking forward to getting into the 3G device-line. Verizon's EVDO is pretty hit and miss around my market whereas, as I understand it, the 3G network is pretty solid (lest we forget that I'm in Bellsouth's backyard).
Thanks again for the insight. I think I'll be carrying this device by the end of the day -- barring my time here at work doesn't either 1) consume me with work (
) or 2) I dredge up information that snubs it from online forums or reviews.
Thanks!

In all honesty, the 'tilt' feature of the phone wasn't even a deciding factor. Holding the device in the store, it almost felt like it shouldn't tilt. Honestly, I doubt that particular feature is something that I'll find handy.

I had Verizons version the 6800. I liked it but the range for picking up wifi was very limited. You nearly had to be right on top of the signal. One reason i disliked it, was that i had to make a 911 call outside, and i could not see the screen to dial it. One other draw back was battery life. Be careful if you do not use their internet service, when you use wifi it will choose their's over the wireless.

I also looked at the Verizon version of the Flip but, because of current issues with Verizon, I'm going to jump ship and give ATT another shot at my loyalty (it was vacated when Bellsouth took over the old ATT network because of the shotty 'seemless' venture - weird that the roles are totally reversed now (ATT taking Bellsouth)).
While I will have a data plan, I appreciate the insight in to the phone being set to use the cell tower data rather than the WiFi... is there a way to force the phone to use the WiFi if it's set up as a default and then, if the WiFi isn't there, use the cell data?

Thanks... good info.

I get my screen protectors from BoxWave (as well as stylii w/a built in pen).
I almost forgot, but then remembered as I actually used it today, but I think best thing about the Tilt is the built-in GPS. With TomTom (maps installed on the microSD card), I have the entire US on my phone, so there is no need to rent a GPS at Hertz or carry around another device.
If there is a drawback to the unit, the battery life sucks compared to the two previous devices, but with a handy little utility I found over at XDA Developers, you can disable the 3G radio within a few seconds of non-use, which saves the battery considerably. (that, plus a cigarette lighter adaptor when using the GPS)
BTW, you can actually tether these devices without 3rd party software. Internet connection sharing (connects via USB or BT) is already on the device. (tethering may be a violation of the AT&T TOS, even w/a data plan)

I have been using the tilt for about a month, and am a big fan of it. If you add the right add ons it also gives it some cool factor, if thats what u r looking for. My only concern is the battery, which needs a charge regularly if you surf the internet frequently. I still have all the links for the different cab files also.
Well, I'm one month out on getting it...
Long story short, I'm glad I checked my current contract with Verizon... it turns out that I'm still in it for another month. If had ported over, I would've incurred the early termination fee.
So, I'll stick it out for another month... bleh.
