Finally decided to cancel the SiriusXM subscription on my Ranger today -- from this point forward I'll only be driving the vehicle a few hundred miles each year and it just doesn't make sense to keep paying for a service I never used much even when I was driving the truck as my every day vehicle.

The only reason I even kept it as long as I did was that I liked being able to listen to NFL games on Sunday afternoons when I would have to travel for work. The rest of their programming, quite frankly, was of only marginal interest to me.....

Wife went to the thrift store to get a few dog blankets. Took the tape off and here it is.

Last day of vacation -- it looks like I'll be back on the road again beginning Sunday evening. My vacation didn't turn out quite as I had hoped just because the weather the last half of the week wasn't conducive to getting my "babies" out on the road and making sure the pedal position sensor on Blue was taken care of took up a lot of the time that I had planned for other things. The good news is that the repair seems to have made a big difference on the performance of the truck -- so much so that I can hardly wait for sunny weather so I can take it out for another run!

Just found out that my sister and her husband are coming down to Houston to spend Christmas with us. On the surface, one would look at that and probably say, "Good news -- it's nice to get together with family!" Of course, the person who would say such a thing obviously doesn't know my sister and her husband.....

While I love the two of them dearly, they are a couple best taken in extremely small doses (2-3 hours at a time) -- not non-stop for seven straight days! Needless to say, the wife is not real happy about it and has been grouchy as heck ever since I told her they were coming. I was joking with the boy at breakfast this morning that our only hope now is to pray for a snowstorm of Biblical proportions to hit Minneapolis the week leading up to Christmas.....

I'm hoping against hope that this ends up being one of those experiences that once it is over you look back and say, "Ok -- that wasn't as bad as I was expecting it to be.".......

Sounds like the weekend is going to be pretty much a rain-out down here in Houston -- I'm thinking Saturday might be one of those days where all I do is lay around in PJ's and watch TV with the boy! We've got a bunch of programs on WWII stocked up on the DVR -- believe it or not, my son is fascinated with WWII (and to a lesser extent, the Civil War) and loves to watch documentaries on both.....
