Let's start over......
Hot already this morning and for the next 5 days temps will be close to 100 degrees. Add in the humidity and heat index temps in the 110 to 115 range or more. I don't miss working outside in this kind of weather!
The extreme heat warms the gulf waters so much it gets to be ideal for storms forming over the coastal areas. Not uncommon to have them form and be on top of you in 1 or 2 days...thats what we have to watch out for. Picking up part of my gang at the airport this evening...they're coming back from England where its been cool...just in time for a blast of heat when they get out of the air conditioned terminal.
It has definitely been a crazy summer so far! From April through June I didn't have to turn on my sprinkler system once. Then, starting in about mid-July, I haven't been able to dump enough water on it to keep it green!
My last electricity bill was the highest I have ever had since I moved into my house! I think part of it is the continuous near-100 degree heat we have been having, combined with the fact that my AC unit is just getting old and tired. I've already told the wife to not get too carried away with plans for our disposable income next year, because I think a new AC system is going to be on our horizon as a preventative measure!
Yep -- I am at the time of year where I am REALLY looking forward to two things -- September when the wife and kid go back to school, and October when we start getting a break from the Texas heat!
