Noooo! Keep your salt! We don't have enough equipment down here to handle a storm as big and hard as this one. Doesn't happen but every few years. About 3 inches of sleet and freezing rain, no snow, and several days never above 32. Most of the roads are clear now.

I can't recall ever seeing the roads that bad. Every other person has a blade up here and they don't get to use them that much. I have an older Case 550 wide track (36" grousers lol) in storage collecting dust. Can't get rid of it, -to much sentimental value, -damn thing can cat on water lol. Caterpillar didn't have anything like that at the time so....

Anyway, that's terrible Patrick!

They had a few graders out, just too many miles to clean. They brought in equipment and men from all over the state. Hardly made a dent. Their main focus was to keep the interstates open as much as possible. Truckers were shut down, not moving, for two days. The mail didn't run for two days.

We do pretty well if there is snow in the mix or do real well if it's all snow. This was 3 inches of sleet and freezing rain, no snow at all. Even Maggie had trouble walking on it. Unfortunately, we get one of these events every 3 or 4 years. They said it was the worst since 1998.
