Got a buddy over at Camp Slayer in Iraq wanting me to come work over there, only downside is no alcohol.
I don't see how the GI's can handle that.

I don't know. Just going by what he was saying, although he's not that big of a drinker. I'm sure there's always a way around it.

Wonder what kinda pay I'd get, although I'd be in Afghanistan. He's getting a little over $130k for a yr contract for his job in Iraq.

Here's what the company sent me.
Position: Design Technician

Job Description:

Under direct supervision, performs layout and design work from both basic and complex data supplied by engineers. Applies advanced level techniques with computer design and standard design with AutoCAD applications.
Candidates must be fluent in English and have a valid driver’s license.

It should be understood that employment may be located in potentially dangerous areas, including combat or war zones. This might involve the possibility of suffering harm by dangerous forces or friendly fire. These dangers are inherent to working conditions in a dangerous environment.

Would be kind of neat. I have a cousin over there, a machinist. He has been there over a year. We call him Iraq Jack.

At least you would not have a truck to put in storage!

you could always get a super duty, ill work on shortening it to the 6.5 bed while you are gone, and you can cut me checks for the work. Then ill make sure its working flawlessly by the time your contract is up

Filled out a questionaire (more like a yes/no do understand/accept the following) that had some wierd stuff in there. One that made me stop and think was something about "if attacked by nuclear/bio-something/chemical weapons, your body will be creamated and sent back home. Do you accept this? Yes No".

So I clicked yes. :o

What I got now, prolly won't last a yr.

Depending on what I can find, as long as it already has a shortbed, I may just drop it and leave it be.

My buddy does some sort of IT/Communications work. He was saying that because of the cost of his security clearance, his min. contract was a yr but said there were 6month contracts for some of the jobs. I could handle that.
