Luckily the camp at Grand Isle has very little grass, we're heading down there Saturday

I just looked at a map. When you are at Grand Isle, you're out in the Gulf.

You can see the Gulf from the front porch, to the rear is Caminada Bay that ties into Barataria Bay that reaches almost to the Westbank of New Oeleans. Elmer's Island and Grand Terre island's are close by but not inhabited like Grand Isle is. Only 55 miles from my house.

Same here, thunderstorm's every evening so I'll wait for a few day's of sunshine. Summer rain down here only last's an hour or two but can dump 2 or 3 inches real quick.

Thank's, this is a family hangout year round but mostly in the summer. 2 year's ago oil from the BP explosion was on the beaches around here but has since been cleaned up.

I try to go up the step's as much as possible to get a little exercise. Wife can't with her bad knee. We alway's unload groceries and luggage into the elevator.

water to the front and back, island is maybe 1/2 mile deep where the camp is located. not much land there but island get's a little deeper land wise a little farther down. hundred's of year's ago it was home of pirate Jean Lafitte.
