I'm tired, sleepy and hungry. Nothing some that food and a nap wouldn't fix.

No way!

My Sis in law has a Shiba Inu. Looks as much like a fox as a fox does. She's concerned that if she ever gets loose, someone might shoot her thinking it's a fox. She and Maggie got along great. She is just slightly bigger than Maggie. I should have taken pictures, but to busy. This is exactly how she looks. Never seen one before. It was given to my SIL, but they sell for around $6,000. Which is crazy. I would take her home in a second though. Very sweet and sprited dog.

Are you sure about the hip displacia? Usually, that is in larger, heavily bred dogs. These are supposed to be a naturally evolved dog, not man-bred.

It was interesting, neither Maggie nor Roxie barked the whole time we were there. Maggie seldom barks, usually only at thunder storms, and Roxie does not bark.

Yes they are a naturally evolved dog but factor in breeders into the equation and naturally evolved becomes breeding for pure breds .....

Hip displcia can be found in most pure bred dogs....certain breeds seem to have more issues with than others....it doesn't matter weather they're large or small in size.

Breeds rarely seen in the United States are the Ainu, Braque, Canadian Eskimo dog,all four Chien breeds, Belgian Griffon, the English Coonhound or the Norbottenspets. They are not listed as having hip dysplasia.

Of the better known breeds, Terriers do not seem to be as frequently affected. The Hairless or Rat terrier, Irish Terrier, Sealyham Terrier, Shropshire Terrier, and the Toy Fox Terrier have no documented case of hip dysplasia.

The well-known breeds that have had no incidence of hip dysplasia are the Chihuahua, Havanese, and Papillon. All are very small.
