First night of studying. Getting ready for the trip. Found out today that I leave 7am the 4th From Monroe for Canada. Will be staying at the Cantera Suites in Edmonton, Alberta. Everything is paid for plus they will be giving me $560 in cash for my food for 2 weeks. If I have any left over, I get to keep.

Yep, I liked those jobs. For us it was called "Per Diem Rates". That's for skilled trades and the last job I was on out of state (2 year contract), you got your usual union scale + $100 Per Diem. That's $100 per day separate, for cost of living. Which was paid bi-weekly.

It adds up quick, enjoy.

We only get $75 out over 100 miles and we have to work 2 days out over 100 to get it.....one down fall of driving the company truck......personal vehicle is another set of guidelines ......

The boys won their first round football playoff game....39-0......

And with that win they got the school 6 hours away from home

The Per Diem rates all varied with us. I was Indiana for 2 years that job. New York was paying 135 per day and Cali was paying 165 per day.

BUT, we work every day of the week for 3 weeks. After the third week you had the option of taking 3 days off, - you could ask for 4 and most likely get it or keep working if you wanted to.

If you were close enough to drive home, they paid your gas (mileage). I drove , it was aprox 250 miles out for me. You didn't get per diem on days off. If you had to fly home , they paid for that as well, but again, -no per diem.

Those jobs aren't for everyone, can get pretty taxing. Worth it in the end IMO.
