I hear ya. He's wearing me out by recharging the batteries on his John Deere tractor. My charger is about worn out.

Yeah, Race was like as well when he was younger. Speaking of tiring out I am nodding in my easy chair I will talk to you tomorrow before I can't keep my eyes open.

This had to have been the fastest Monday I've witnessed. Not sure why but it went by really fast. Hopefully going to have the tractor up and running by Thursday. I ordered the new Lift Arm on Saturday and they said it'd be here on Wednesday. Had to break down and borrow the neighbors tractor yesterday, the grass was over 12" tall.

Engine Oil Viscosity

The oil cap on my 2010 F150 4.6L Ford XL Pickup truck engine indicates a 5W – 20W viscosity oil. Can a higher viscosity petroleum oil (10W – 40W, 15W – 40W) be used (safely) in this engine? Would adding a lighter petroleum based oil (in the right mix) like Marvel Mystery Oil be acceptable to obtain a lower viscosity? Could a 5W – 40W Synthetic oil be used safely in this engine? The excessive cost ($87.00) of my last oil/filter change at 6,000 miles clearly indicates a future need for DIY. Finding a source of 5W – 20W oil (Chevron/Havoline) locally is difficult in this isolated region. The nearest Wal-Mart store is 30 miles away (one-way) and they have only one brand (Rotella-T) of oil (5W – 40W) which is a Synthetic. They do not carry 5W – 20W oil of any brand. I may have to use the Internet to find suitable oil for my truck or return to the dealer$$$. Any suggestions of sources for a 5W – 20W oil suitable for this engine would be appreciated. Thanks. Stick with the 5-20. Your 4.6 has the VCT system and NEEDS the 5-20. Nothing higher, nothing lower. Use Motorcraft 5-20, it's a great oil and for 7 quarts and a FL-820s is $37. Advance and Auto Zone carry it.

If you value your warranty stick with 5w-20w....you can use 0w-20w if it meets Ford specs...but those are your only options....anything higher than 20w will pucker your vct system.....
