On Tuesday it started to rain and we had 3 comines with 35ft headers going down the highway right when people where getting off work at the base, people where mad we had the cars lined up for a mile. I felt bad but we only had to go 3 miles but the combines only go 15mph, I wasn't worth it for us the take the headers off and trailer them to the yard lol.

Well, I accepted the new job offer in Athens, TX. I start to work Monday. Going to be tough for awhile, as it is 2 hours away and Don't want to sell this home until I know that the job is a keeper. I will go in on Monday morning, stay with my brother in law at night and come home on Friday.

Looking forward to the challange and seems like a great fit. It will facilitate the move to the farm that we had planned, but means we will have to get the house built a little sooner than we had planned. It's going to be really tough on Maggie, as she is my little buddy and gets down when I'm not around.

Congratulations! I knew you'd make it to East Texas sooner or later.

Congrats. Blue. People always told me things work out in the end. It just takes a little time to get adjusted.

Jim,
Congrats and good luck!
Being in limbo can be a PIA but you and everyone else will get through it.

Around here you can get a ticket for doing that.
But
There's been accidents caused from this practice due to hills and no oversized support vehicles being used.

I know it saves time but it doesn't save from the potential accident waiting to happen.

Anytime we use public roads the heads come off and are in tow behind the combine. My uncle's rules.

jim you can do what my grandparents did when they built their house in burnet. they built a 3 car garage building with 2 stalls together with a wall seperating the last one. the insulated the single stall put in a window unit , small shower and bathroom, and lived there for a year while the main house was being built. And they still have the "apartment" garage setup which makes for a nice private guest room
