Morning fellas! Was 20* when I left my house at 8:00 a.m. Supposed to be 12 - 15* this weekend with wind chill near 0*. It's been a LONG time since it was that cold in East Texas. I'm considering the possibility of a warmer climate.

Talked to my old Ford buddy from back in my Abilene,TX days. He can do magic with Ford engines. He has a 429 Hemi in a bedroom. He has a 67 Shelby he bought while in high school and an 87 GT he bought new, plus various other Fords. One of those being a 39 coupe.

He got the wild hair one time to bolt together the various engine parts he had laying around and build a screaming 289. He didn't repaint any components, they went together as they were. When he finished, the heads were different colors, the water pump was white, of all things, and the valve covers, one silver, one blue.

He found a 65 Falcon hardtop for $100. We prepped it and painted it white with orange rally stripes. The only thing I remember him buying for it was one of those built 4 speed top loaders that was fully syncronized. It had a narrowed 9" with 5.11. He would come off the line at 7000 rpms, grabbing gears faster than you can imagine. He was in 4th halfway down the track, sounded like an automatic, the way he could shift. His best time was an 11.00 at Little River Raceway. He ran it for 2 years and then sold it. It was completely street legal, BTY, as he would drive it for Cruise Nights.

He quit his job maintaining a truck fleet and has started a restoration shop. Right now, he is working on a 52 Packard for a doctor. Just thought it was cool that a guy is making a living doing what he loves to do.

Same here Jerame I am dealing with frozen air brakes this morning on a truck. Any hints on what the cool truck part is or is it top secret?

that's just waiting on enough time off when it's warm, all I need to do is bend the pipes for the boost tubes and it's ready to roll (should see about 14# )
