They are only charging me part cost, no labor since it's all going to be bench work.

I know, and that's going to be my main argument. Maybe I'll save half at least. Injectors cost $49 each, so I'll pay around $370 or so, I'll be happy if I pay half that.

If they don't listen over the phone, you could always show up in person. They'd sing a different tune I'd imagine.

I don't know where Ford customer service is located, probably Detroit or something.

A friend of the family called tonight, wanted me to check out his new boat. I forgot how long it is, but it cost about $225,000. He's planning on setting out next summer/fall and going around the world.

He's a pretty smart fella, I'm sure he's planning on a wide berth.

I know of a 3 valve complete kit that sold for $1500 a couple years back all because the guy was too afraid to change the plugs

at least you're getting a "free" short block

I think I know how you feel. In one respect, you should get longevity with a new short block. On the other hand, it may not be as good as what had proven itself to you. It's almost like my baby would not be the same anymore. Mostly in the head maybe, but there nonetheless.

It's funny, I know the short block will be AOK, but I also know all the little possible quirks about my current heads. Plugs, cam phasers......

I think I'll get Landon to have them clean the engine bay really good too.

I also think I'm going to have the rest of the injectors changed. Ford should pay me for doing that for them.
