Boat

So I just put a boat together completely. It was a 1985 Sea Ray 19ft and I had no instructions for it either. I spent at least 8 hrs on the boat all together and the owner said he wanted to pay me for it but not sure what to charge him. I don't really want to over charge him and was wondering if anyone here had an idea of what someone would charge to have that done.
Thank you

Sorry I mean that it was just re-upholstererd and everything was just sitting inside it. Had no idea what went where and how it connected till I did it. It only had the front seats in the bow put on and the rest was up to me. No it wasn't snap together had to screw it all in, manually, and figure where I needed to put the screws to hold it.

Was there much in the way of redoing the assembly as the learning curve developed?

Did you do this as a handyman task?

Is this going to be an on going event?
Are you trying to create good will as a means to create more business?

It would consider what a mechanic would charge him, less any on site learning the job. What does a trades man make hourly. Then add some overhead/proffit margin.

Considering my questions how about $200-$300.00

After I was able to get one side of it done the other was easy but some of the interior needed to be re stapled and a couple seats needed new wood bases. Getting the fit was probably the hardest part.
I did it because I might buy the boat and he is going to work with me on the price for all the labor I'm having to do on it.
This was a one time thing, I think. Would do others but don't know where I would really get the business, unless that is if someone on here needed something done and is close to Lincoln, NE.
That price sounds ok I guess just trying to get some input on what someone on here might charge since this was the first time I've ever done that.

I tried to get the motor to turn over and had no luck. It's an inboard Mercruiser. I had muffs hooked up to it and a good battery that was being charged too. The first try it clicked a couple times then I didn't get anything, couldn't even turn on the fish finder. Is there anyone that may have an idea of what it might have been? I'm no pro but everything looked like it was hooked up properly and the motor looks fine. If there's anyone that has any input on what to look for let me know, also if you have any other suggestions on the labor part.
Thanks

Was the boat winterized before it was stored? Your sig indicates you are in Nebraska. Gets kinda cold up that way. Check for freeze damage if it wasn't winterized.

Make sure you have a good battery before you go through all the trouble. The fish finder not on sounds like it doesn't have enough power, its busted or it blew something. I'd also change the plugs out and check to make sure your getting good spark. Cleaning the air intake wouldn't hurt either. Depending on if the gas was left in for a period of time I'd either change it out or put some additive in it.

If you plan on buying this I personally wouldn't charge him. He can take the work off the top if he's a good guy.

Yes sorry its an I/O, and I do believe it was winterized. The previous owner, committed suicide, took care of it and made sure he winterized all the time. I will check them all and he is just going to take the price off the boat for me I just have to tell him how much my work is worth. He does have a buddy that works on boats and I'm seeing if he can't get him to take a look at it to see if they can get it to work.
