which exhaust for 2008 kfx450r
I have a ProCircuit TI-4 exhaust on my KFX 400! It's a great exhaust it hit's the meat of the powerband sooner than most exhaust's but drops off sooner on the top end compared to other exhaust's! I agree with all the previous posts the Yoshi,Pro Circuit,FmF and Hmf exhausts are all I would buy! I have never been impressed with the DG exhaust's some people may love them but I have never been impressed with the DG's! I have a friend with a Z400 and he has the same performance mod's as me except he has a DG full exhaust and I have a slip on! The DG pulls longer on the topend but it takes him about 300-yards just to catch up to me the DG just doesn't create a snappy throttle response nor produces as much power at lower rev's than the ProCircuit which is how I like mine! My exhaust wasn't cheap at $489 just for the slip on but the muffler is made out of titanium so it's a little bit lighter than most exhaust's and is alot stronger than aluminum! If your looking for a loud exhaust the DG is noticably louder than my Pro Circuit but the Pro Circuit in my opinion sounds alot better! Why do you want a loud exhaust anyway's? If all you want is noise though it would be alot cheaper to just gut the inside of your factory muffler but the loudest exhaust doesn't alway's sound the best or make the most power! Loud pipes do save lives though! LoL
I have never ridin a quad with one of these exhaust's before but after looking at three different KFX 450 forums people have been talking pretty good about them! The exhaust is called DASA!Here's a link to a forum where a vendor suppossedly done a dyno test with most of the top name exhaust's! I'm not gonna promise you that these number's are accurate but like I said alot of people have been talking pretty good about them! It's fairly loud too at 106db without a quiet core insert!http://www.kawieriders.com/forums/in...howtopic=25081
Here's a link to a vendor so you can check out the price of the exhaust! http://www.fuelatv.com/KFX450.htm
Here's a sound clip of one on a KFX 450!http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoid=29604318
Also make sure if you do purchase an exhaust to get a power commander to remap the EFI to adjust for the extra exhaust flow the EFI mapping is adjusted from the factory for stock exhaust and intakes and don't adjust the fuel/air mixture enough to compensate for the increase in flow only enough to compensate for altitude changes! Hope this helps!
