how much would you pay???

i friend of mine is selling me his Rolex Oyster Perpetual Day-Date (gold) for a x amount, how much would u pay? dont know much about it, my father got me a Oyster Perpetual Submariner for my 18 birthday & grad gift but thats the only real expensive watch i have. so, how much would u pay?

You would probably be better off by taking the watch to a jeweler and have it appraised to get an idea of it's value.

yea that wat i was thinking, hes a close friend but u know never know if it might be a scam.. a fake or something. how much are they worth new? hes had it for about 8months.

I personally wouldn't pay more than $100 for a watch even if I was a millionaire.....so $100 .

I paid a few hundred dollars for a Seiko Kinetic about 8 years ago. I wear it every day and it still looks and runs great. I've repaired it once for around $60.

During the same time frame, I'd normally go through about 5-10 $40 Timex's, so the Seiko was a good investment for me!

Whatever it's worth, I wouldn't even pay ½ that. I never understood why someone would pay so much for just a watch. Now if it was able to cook me dinner, mow the yard, wash the truck, walk the dog, etc, I might be interested in it.

I guess if you're into jewlery, or just have tons of money to burn, I could see why, but still...
