Cool NEW TOY - Benelli Super Black Eagle II

Picked it up today, I got the Max 4D. I'm wasting no time in using it either... Myself and some buds are loading up all our atvs and heading to south Texas for some Turkey hunting tomorrow. Most of my duck hunting buddies have this gun or the 11-87, I know I'll love it! Shoots 2 3/4-3/1/2 and is just a top notch gun... I can hunt anything from quail/dove-geese-turkey with this bad boy. I'm set for around 10+years shotgun wise!

They are a nice gun, but I'm glad you're in Texas.

that's just far enough from me.

I want to be at least 500 miles from someone who would go hunting with a bunch of other folks without test firing a weapon and making sure everyone is safe.

Of course I'm gonna fire at a little paper when we get out to camp before hunting with it. Never said I wasn't, you assumed.

Thanks everyone else.. It's a beast. I just figure you get what you pay for and buying the best all around user shotgun is worth it to me. I'll get lots of use out of it.

Well, as long as you are as far from help as possible, then it's all good.

and by the way, yes, I am moderately happy.

What is the rate of failure of a modern shotgun barrel or receiver where it fails in an unsafe manner? About 1 in a billion? You're probably more likely to hit a turkey with your car and crash than you are to be injured by an exploding shotgun (unless you're a dumbass and jam something in the barrel).

Nice gun, I have the SBE I. If you are turkey hunting you will like that gun even more because it weights less and is easier to carry all day.

Almost all weapons are fired before they leave the factory. All barrels are pressure tested before they get mounted to the receiver. How do you "test fire" a new gun? If its going to blow apart what is the difference between in the woods or in the field. Either way you get a face full of metal and a huge settlement check from the manufacturer.

I think we agree on this...I think you may be addressing the guy I quoted and not my post!
