Leather question

Hello all! New to site.

I am in the market for a new F150. I have never owned one and have many questions but will start with this one:

I am looking at leather seats, I have a dog that rides inside the cab. What will the claws do to the leather?

Thanks.

I would say that if you took a few precautions such as laying a towel down or something along those lines you should be fine. I would highly recommend a good cleaning every now and then to keep it looking good. I love my leather in the truck wouldn't trade it for anything. One word of advise, if your not super super ocd about your leather I would not purchase a King Ranch. They look great but the leather needs lots of TLC.

Do not want the King Ranch. That is an ugly truck! Thanks for the reply.

Everyone has an opinion... you can have yours.

Naturally, my opinion is different than yours... hehehe...

Anyways... welcome to the site. I think the last guy nailed it on the head from a 'leather' perspective. While it will not likely be harmed by el perro's claws, cloth may be the better of the two options for you. Also, keep in mind that the 'leather' that Ford speaks of on the interior is limited to seating surfaces ONLY. In short, the bolsters and other parts of the seat are not leather; they're pleather.

Find a good cover, take care of the seat itself (cleaning and conditioning) and make sure mutt sits in the seat rather than running back and forth like a rabid crackhead, and you'll be fine.

I also have a dog (Alaskan Husky) and leather in my current ride. Ordered my FX4 with leather as well. Don't let him/her be the deciding factor on your comfort. Just take the necessary precautions.

My two dogs have not hurt the leather in my last few vehicles, nor in my sisters truck, nor my mother's car.
