Gerber LMF II infantry knife
I'll be using it for hiking/camping and anything else you'd use a big *** knife for. Will be cutting rope, maybe some branches, or maybe cutting my leg off if I get stuck under a boulder.
What do you guys think? Should I look at something else?

I would have to go with the tracker. A little hige priced, but just looking at it makes me want to go out and start cutting and killing.

I'll be the first to admit, I abuse a knife. I've broke more big name knives than you've probably seen. The ONLY knife brand that can stay with me and take the abuse is the Ontario brand of knives. They aren't light weight and they're not frilly. They are a heavy duty piece of equipment designed to be used, not for show. If you want a serious knife, look here:

My truck knife is the SP-5 Bowie. The blade is 1/4" thick and I've yet to break it and I have tried.

They'll also sharpen and hold an edge better than the high dollar knives.

Check out RAT Cutlery. It's going to cost a little bit more, but they're awesome knives.
