Howdy
Hi all, just signed up. I looked around for awhile on where to post a quick intro post and this seems like the best place. Anyway, I have been looking for a good f150 forum for awhile. I have an 05 F150 STX 4.6 4x4, 93 ford explorer, 03 Ford Mustang 3.8 so we're a ford family.
The f150 is the tow pig for the explorer.
The explorer is currently in the garage getting a d44/9" swap, 5.13/.14 gears, full spool in the rear, lunch box locker in the front, and 35" tires. Also has a set of rocker sliders. I cut out the existing and rotting rockers and replaced them with sliders. A hand throttle (5 speed manual) and a nice cb for trail communication. I plan on redoing the hand throttle and using an atv style thumb throttle/grip for more precise control. Should be running less than 6"s of total lift on it so it's gonna be low and slow...perfect for what I want to do!
The mustang is the wife's car. We are actually planning on buying a "classic" mustang in the coming years as well. I have dreams of competing in the XRRA series so a tube buggy is coming down the line as well.
I'm much more familiar with my explorer than I am my f150, so I have a few questions. Like the 4.6 is a 2 valve engine so i'm cool doing the gotts intake mod correct? Can a manual tranny be swapped in. And probably many more.
Pics are worth a thousand words

Anyway...hi!

Welcome, gotts is a go and you can get a manual trans behind that 4.6, however, finding a transfercase adapter might be fun. I want to do a 6 speed swap in mine, but the only thing that will work would be a ZF6 and transfer case out of a F250/350.

Nice color on the Stang!
